These kiwis are characterised by their high sugar content of up to 17 Brix, and they lack the acidic, sour traits commonly found in green kiwis. STORAGE

To determine whether or not your Kiwi is ripe, gently squeeze it as you would an avocado.If your Kiwi is already ripe, it can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. The refrigerator will reduce the ripening process, allowing it to stay fresh for a few days to a week.

The red kiwi is absolutely safe to consume as it is not genetically modified fruit. The red flesh came from a unique and naturally occurring pigment, called anthocyanin, within the fruit. It is the result of cross-pollination of existing kiwi species, with its offspring inheriting genetic features such as consistency in growing, sweet taste and greater storage resistance.
