Japanese Kumquats Miyazaki Kinkan

Kinkans is somewhat juicy and easily chewable. The whole bite-size fruit is edible, including the peel, pulp, and seeds. The skin of kinkans is sweet, delicately fragrant and fruity. It complements the tart flavour of the pulp, providing an intense sweet and tart combination with a zesty citrus note.  

STORAGE

Whole, unwashed kinkans will keep for up to seven days at room temperature. Stored in a sealed container in the refrigerator, the fruit will keep for 1 to 2 weeks.

Kumquats can be eaten fresh or preserved and made into jams and jellies. In China, they are usually candied. The branches of the kumquat tree are used for Christmas decorations in some regions of the United States and worldwide.
