Honey Kiss Melon

Hami melon is a special variety of melon whose seeds originate from the Xinjiang region of China. It has an elongated shape with yellow skin and green stripes. It is known for its firm, crunchy and juicy texture, floral fragrance and tropical honey notes that develop when fully ripe. Its flavour profile is similar to that of an extremely sweet cantaloupe, with more flavour and a firmer, crunchier texture. STORAGE

Whole, unopened Hami melons should be kept at room temperature until mature. Once aromatic and ripe, the melons may be cut and preserved in a covered container for 2 to 4 days in the refrigerator. Hami melon halves may also be wrapped in plastic and kept as is in the fridge.

FUN FACTS & TIPS

To tell if the Hami melon is ripe, it should give a little when you squeeze it at the sides and the stem ends. Also, when you smell the stem ends, they should smell fruity. Also look for dark, black or brown spots, which could indicate that they are overripe.
