Fengshui Pear - 丰水梨

Feng Shui pears from China taste like an apple and a pear. The creamy white flesh is very soft and juicy, with a sweet, low-acid flavour, aromatic fragrance, and a slightly tart core. Unlike regular pears, these pears are already ripe and ready to eat when purchased. In addition, because of their high water content and size, eating only one piece might satisfy your appetite. If you want to find a ripe pear for immediate consumption, gently press a finger into the upper part of the pear, just where the stem meets the fruit. The fruit is ripe when it barely gives way there. Soft pears should not be bought elsewhere as they are overripe and the flesh is mushy and mealy. If you want to eat the pears within a few days, the top should still be firm.
