STORAGE

You can tell if a peach is ripe or not by gently yet firmly squeezing it with your fingertips. But not so much that you bruise the skin or poke a hole in it. If the peach is as hard as a baseball, it was harvested too early. If it is firm and gives a little, like a tennis ball, it will take a little longer to reach its wonderful ripeness. Leave the peach on the kitchen counter for another day or two until it is soft.
