Shinkansen Pear - 新甘泉

Shinkansen grade pears (新甘泉) have a sweetness level of 13 degrees or more. They are discovered and produced in Tottori region, well-known for its typically round and smooth with yellow skin small center core. With succulent crunchy flesh that is refreshingly sweet and brimming with juice.

Prior to selection, the sensor measures the sugar content and overall evaluation of the fruit quality using the content sensor, which analyses the entire pear, boosting fruit selection accuracy and allowing only sweet and delectable pear to be picked. Only pears that meet Shinkansen selection standards are eligible to use the trademark. As a result, the form, colour, weight, and sugar content must be of "Shinkansen" grade 13° Brix. 

STORAGE

Golden pears can be stored at room temperature for up to a week and in the refrigerator for up to a month.

FUN FACTS & TIPS

Tottori pears are farmed with great care and attention to detail in order to create strikingly large, gorgeous pears. The grower delicately hand-pollinates each flower at first. Each pear is wrapped in a waxed paper bag as it matures to protect it from pests and the weather as it grows.

When the pears reach full maturity and are juicy and delicious, they are picked by hand in September and packaged in individual recycled mesh stockings to preserve their delicate skin from damage during shipment to markets throughout the world.
