Korea Jeju Hallabong Oranges

Korea Jeju Hallabong Oranges is a famous breed of tangerines native to Jeju Island in Jeju farm that has a richer taste and scent than normal tangerines. When visiting Jeju, it is almost inevitable to buy a box of Hallabong gift box and peel and chew it during the trip as it has become the mascot of Jeju Island. The pulp of the tangerine is incredibly delicious and silky, and it is huge. Hallabong juice is popular among Koreans because it is sweeter and contains more vitamin C than regular tangerines or oranges. 

STORAGE

Due to the high water content of Jeju oranges, they can spoil quickly in Singapore's humid weather, especially if they are wet. Therefore, be sure to let them dry completely before storing them. Use a clean, dry towel or kitchen paper to wipe off the excess moisture. Place them in the refrigerator or in a well-ventilated and not too humid environment to prevent them from spoiling too quickly.

FUN FACTS & TIPS

Hallabong is spherical, almost as round as an orange, but it has a characteristic bump at the top. Because of this protruding bump, the korean mandarin orange is named after the volcano Hallasan (한라산) on Jeju Island, which is the highest mountain in South Korea and whose summit mimics the shape of the Hallabong.
