Yellow Watermelon

Although yellow watermelons are often smaller than red-fleshed varieties, they are sweeter and have a honey-like taste. STORAGE

If you do not plan on cutting your watermelon open soon, it's best to keep it at room temperature away from direct sunlight. You can also cut your watermelon in half and store the other half by covering the cut surface tightly in cling film. This will prevent the watermelon from absorbing the aromas or flavours of other foods in the fridge. If you keep the watermelon in the fridge for a long period of time, it may affect its taste and nutritional value.

The sweet fruits have the texture and appearance of red-fleshed watermelons, but they lack the antioxidant lycopene that gives the red-fleshed variety its colouring.
