The leaves and stems of tang oh vegetables can both be eaten raw in salads, stir-fried, or added to soups. The flavour of chrysanthemum greens is somewhat mustardy, mild peppery, grassy, and herbaceous. Making them great for Chinese New Year steamboat, sukiyaki, mookata and shabu-shabu.
Chrysanthemum leaves may be kept in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. Keep the leaves unwashed and sealed in an airtight zippered bag; otherwise, they will dry out and water will degrade their form and texture.
Toss Garland Chrysanthemum fresh leaves into a bowl of boiling soup and extract them at the correct time so that they remain pleasantly crisp and nutritious. Tang Oh are high in fiber and low in fat, which adds to their weight loss advantages.
