Yamanashi Anpo Gaki - Dried Persimmon

Anpo-gaki is a refreshing dried frozen persimmon made from Hiratane Kaki. They are carefully selected and processed to always ensure a premium quality that gives them the ideal texture: firm on the outside, silky, soft and almost jelly-like on the inside. Their brilliant, bright orange colour, preserved by sulphur fumigation, sets them apart from other dried persimmons. When you taste them for the first time, you will be surprised by their natural sweetness, distinct flavour and soft, fluffy and chewy texture!

STORAGE

Japanese persimmons, both ripe and unripe, can be stored in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. They can also be stored in the refrigerator to extend the shelf life.

Dried Japanese persimmons are produced through a labour-intensive process in which the fruit is peeled daily, dried hanging, and massaged by hand to produce a slightly different flavour and texture. Dried Japanese persimmons are considered uncommon due to their limited quantity, and their luxurious prices reflect the time and labour farmers put into producing the dried fruit. Dried persimmons are enjoyed out of hand and are also popular as a natural sweetener for baked goods, beverages and snacks.
